SUMMARY:Introduction to SciVal for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:If you have never used SciVal and are looking for a structured 
 introduction to how it works\, this session is for you. Participants will 
 be guided through SciVal’s overall structure\, key indicators and primary 
 entity types\, with light hands-on navigation throughout. \n\nThe focus is 
 on building comfort with how SciVal is organized\, what questions it is 
 designed to answer\, and how metrics such as scholarly output\, citation 
 impact\, and collaboration are represented. \n\nAfter the 
 presentation-style overview and guided\, hands-on navigation\, there will 
 be time for a short question and answer period. \n\nBy the end of this 
 workshop\, participants will be able to:  \n\n\n	Identify SciVal’s main 
 components and structure.\n	Navigate entity types and basic analysis 
 workflows.\n	Interpret key indicators like scholarly output and citation 
 impact.\n	Apply guided exploration to build confidence using 
 SciVal.\n\n\nMust be a Waterloo student\, staff or faculty member to 
 attend. No prior knowledge of SciVal is required to participate. 
 Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop. \n\nThis in-person workshop 
 has limited capacity\; please register to reserve your seat. If you have 
 accommodation requests or questions\, reach out to libevents@uwaterloo.ca 
 with your needs.  \n\nPlease note: This workshop is part of a full-day 
 series being offered. You can attend one or all of the workshops\; please
