Facilitators
Lauren Byl (she/her) has worked as the Copyright & Licensing Librarian since 2015. She spends half of her time helping faculty, staff and students understand copyright, the other half negotiating library licenses, and the third half yelling into the void about scholarly publishing issues.
Priscilla Carmini (she/her) has served as the Digital Repositories Librarian since 2024. She collaborates with faculty, students and staff to facilitate the open sharing of research and theses through UWSpace, the University of Waterloo's institutional repository, and supports local publishing initiatives via the University's open journals program. She is dedicated to promoting sustainable Diamond Open Access publishing opportunities that enable both students and faculty to publish without financial or access barriers. In her personal time, she enjoys puzzles, textile crafts, and reading or media from the horror, science fiction or fantasy genres.
