Generative AI Tools for Research: Responsible Use In-Person / Online
Not sure what you need to know before using Generative AI tools in your research process? This hybrid workshop will introduce key concepts behind using generative AI responsibly in research.
Explore institutional and publishing policies, examine copyright and privacy considerations, and discuss where generative AI can and cannot be appropriately used in the research process.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify relevant policy restrictions/requirements to using Generative AI tools in their research process
- Distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable uses of Generative AI tools in research contexts
Must be a Waterloo student, staff or faculty member to attend. Open to all levels of learners and researchers.
This is a hybrid event, please register to receive the event link or hold your seat. The workshop will not be recorded and AI transcription is not permitted, but slides will be shared with those registered. Please note: This is the first workshop in the Generative AI Tools for Research series. Attendees are encouraged to attend this workshop before attending future workshops in the series.
