Generative AI for Research: Responsible Use In-Person

Not sure how to use Generative AI tools in your research process? Explore institutional and publishing policies, examine copyright and privacy considerations, and discuss where generative AI can and cannot be appropriately used in the research process.

Join us for this in-person presentation that will include a discussion period to answer your questions.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify relevant policy restrictions/requirements to using Generative AI tools in their research process
  • Distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable uses of Generative AI tools in research contexts

Must be a Waterloo student, staff or faculty member to attend.

This in-person workshop has limited capacity; please register to reserve your seat. If you have accommodation requests or questions, reach out to libevents@uwaterloo.ca with your needs.

Please note: This workshop is part of a three-part series on using Generative AI in the research process. We recommend attending all three; please register for each workshop separately.

Registration is required. There are 31 seats available.
